WMS Partners, the Baltimore region’s leading independent wealth-planning and investment firm, is pleased to announce that Christopher Walczak is joining the firm as a Partner and Senior Client Advisor.

Chris comes to WMS from GenSpring | SunTrust Private Wealth, where he spent 13 years developing extensive relationships with ultra-high net-worth families in the Washington D.C. area.  While at GenSpring, Chris provided guidance and coordinated services ranging from estate and tax planning to philanthropic giving and family governance.

Chris is choosing to grow his career at WMS, he said, because of the firm’s noteworthy stability with respect to both its professional staff as well as its client base, and because the opportunity to collaborate with WMS’s talented staff will greatly benefit the families he will serve.

“I’m truly excited to join an organization that clearly has what it takes to serve ultra-high net-worth clients,” Chris said. “What is most impressive about WMS is the mix of genuine people, the unmatched acumen of its professionals and its commitment to providing advisors with the time and resources necessary to meet the needs of the families whom they are serving. With this recipe, it is easy to see why this employee-owned firm has a 99-percent client retention rate and professionals who stay for their entire careers.”

“Chris’s experience, professionalism and judgment will serve our clients at the level they deserve,” said Tim Chase, founder and chairman of WMS. “His commitment to client service and knowledge of all aspects of the needs of high wealth families fits perfectly with our culture at WMS, and strengthens our position as the leading wealth advisory firm in the mid-Atlantic region.”

Chris is a graduate of the University of Maryland College Park, where he received a bachelor’s degree in economics.    Chris is a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner, as well as a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor.
