WMS Partners is pleased to announce the promotion of Josh Rowe, Director of Research, to Co-Chief Investment Officer alongside Paul Speargas.

As Co-CIOs of WMS, Speargas and Rowe will help guide investment policies and strategies on a firmwide basis across all asset classes. In addition, Rowe will continue to lead the firm’s private equity platform, where he directs WMS’s manager research, and chairs the firm’s asset allocation committee.

“Josh’s elevation as my Co-CIO is a natural progression of his responsibilities,” said Paul Speargas, WMS’s longtime CIO. “This promotion reflects the cohesive partnership Josh and I have developed since he joined us in 2019.”

“Having Paul and Josh at the helm of our investment platform is a real ‘dream team’ scenario for the firm,” said Todd Wickwire, CEO of WMS Partners. “They are both experienced investors who bring an extremely cerebral yet common sense approach to our investment process.”

“I’m extremely grateful for the trust Paul and the entire WMS team have placed in me,” added Josh Rowe. “I look forward to continuing our proven approach to both preserving clients’ capital and generating consistent risk-adjusted returns through market and economic cycles.”

Before joining WMS in 2019, Rowe was a Portfolio Manager and Senior Analyst with Orinda Asset Management where he performed research and managed long and short investments across the capital structure of companies in the real estate, financial, infrastructure, and transportation industries. A credit generalist, Josh also has traded structured credit, corporate, hybrid, and convertible instruments. Josh earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation after graduating with a PhD in History from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Arts from Johns Hopkins where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
