Robert Killebrew

 

Bob is a Senior Relationship Advisor of the Investment Committee. Bob works closely with his clients advising them on asset allocation and portfolio composition.

A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) charter holder, Bob is a past President of the Baltimore Chartered Financial Analyst Society.  A graduate of Yale University, Bob has a Master of Business Administration with a major in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Bob is a very active member of the Baltimore community and has served as Chairman of the Enoch Pratt Free Library, President of the Yale Alumni Association of Maryland, Chairman of the Blood Program of the Red Cross, President of the Poplar Hill and the Gadd Road Associations, and served on the Boards of the Roland Park Country School, The Elkridge Club, The Lyric, and The Irvine Nature Center. He was Chairman of the Board of the West Chop Club and was on the Finance Committee of the Baltimore Community Foundation. He is an Honorary Alumni of the Penn School for Nursing.

Prior to joining WMS Partners, Bob chaired the Investment Committee of Alex. Brown (now Deutsche Bank) for 23 years where he was a Partner and Member of the Board. He started 1800 Capital Management which became Brown Investment Advisory & Trust where he was also Chairman of the Investment Committee and was Head of Research at Robert Garrett & Sons.

ON A PROFESSIONAL LEVEL, WHAT ARE YOUR BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENTS?

I think being a Partner and Member of the Executive Committee of Alex. Brown plus being the Chair of their Investment Committee for 23 years, but being President of the Baltimore CFA Society was amazing. Perhaps being invited to be a beginning panelist and then later the guest expert on Wall Street Week is another great and rare honor.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?

I love to help organizations recreate themselves including the above, being Head of the Capital Campaign and then Chair of the Board of the Enoch Pratt Free Library paving the way to bring in the incomparable Carla Hayden, Head of Golf and Long Range Planning at the Elkridge Club, President of the Yale Alumni Association of Maryland, teacher in our church, the McCallie School where I ran the 50th Reunion and set four records including the near impossible 100% of the Reunion class giving, and running the original Capital Campaign of the Roland Park Country School. I am one of only six Honorary Alumni of the number one ranked University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing

WHAT ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT PERSONALLY?

Family, friends, and golf all over the western world for 47 years. Shooting my age in golf of 75 --amazing.

WHAT CAN’T YOU STOP TALKING ABOUT?

Watching my wife lead as a Founder and then Chair of Gilchrest Hospice, Chair of the $109 million Capital Campaign of the University of Pennsylvania Nursing School, Chair of the Sheppard Pratt Capital Campaign, Co-Chair of the Garden Club of America National Convention in Baltimore, President of her 50th Reunion at Penn, and winner of the Alumni Award of Merit at Penn.
