Jeffrey Vain, CPA/PFSPartner, Director of Advanced Planning


Jeff is a Senior Client Advisor who provides investment and wealth advisory services to individuals and their families.  He oversees Advanced Planning for the firm and is a subject matter expert on complex estate and tax planning issues.

Jeff is a graduate of Villa Julie College (now Stevenson University) where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS).  Jeff has completed the first two levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) He is a member of AICPA Personal Financial Planning division, Baltimore Estate Planning Council and the G21 Planning Group.

Jeff was a Wealth Management Advisor at Legg Mason before joining WMS Partners.  Jeff also worked with Wooden & Benson, Chartered (now CliftonLarsonAllen) providing auditing and tax services to individual, corporate and government clients.

What made you decide to pursue a career in wealth management?

Knowing that I could derive great personal benefit by helping others achieve their goals and gain peace of mind, in the process.

What do you like best about being a part of the WMS Partners team?

Being able to collaborate with a team of passionate, client-focused individuals on a daily basis.

What do you love to do outside of work?

Traveling the globe, visiting our National Parks, new culinary experiences, reading, drawing and painting.

What is your most memorable travel experience?

Visiting Rome, Italy…great food, beautiful art, and vast history.

What’s the most influential book you’ve read?

A perennial favorite is the Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien.  This great tale illustrates the power of friendship and courage in the face of overwhelming adversity.
